Children's crossing on the Canary Islands

Buenavista del Norte - Tenerife;
IV.1986; pict. A. Anselin
Gran Canaria, 2002
Isn't that sweet?
The Buenavista find is actually the oldest picture in the collection. It was taken before anybody of the spotting team had the slightest idea of the current undertaking.

After such a nice find, downhill was the only possible way to the future. And downhill it went.
Though Spain had really nice children's signs, the local authorities naturally choose (were forced ?) to take the most modern version of the mainland. But I must admit that the Spanish match-stick version is still much more realistic than the new French or Portuguese warning signs with hardly any detail.
