Children's crossing on Saint Lucia |
Soufrière, 17.II.2010; pict. Baeten & De Dier | |
After the first European colonizers took control of Saint Lucia
rule of the island switched more than a dozen times between the French and British.
In 1814 the British took definitive control until 1979 when Saint Lucia became an independent
state of the UK Commonwealth.
Nowadays the main attraction on the calendar is Seafood Friday and a Fish Festival, both monthly events. This must be Paradise. Anything else than the British kind of Children's Crossing Sign would have been unexpected. See Iceland for the features. |
