Through the ages Mongolia and China have waged many wars. The Chinese build the Long Wall to keep the hordes out and up into the 1990s the Soviet Union was the main ally of Mongolia.

No wonder then that the roadsigns found here are related to the ones found in Russia and its satellites like e.g. Uzbekistan in the east or Lithuania in the west.
